Swimming Pool, Terraces and Garden

Summers in Greece are the time when we live outside; we breakfast on the terrace, take a picnic lunch to the beach, enjoy a sun- downer by the poolside and perhaps eat under the stars by the harbour in Fiskardo. Whatever your preference, Villa Kalograta offers the opportunity for all day outdoor living, even if you do not wish to stray far from home.

The living room and both bedrooms have balcony doors leading to the main terrace, there is a large outside table for family meals as well as a small coffee table. New for 2022 is a pergola with built in seating at one end of the terrace. This will provide a lovely space for relaxing and socialising. Additional shade when needed on the sunny terrace is provided by parasols.. There are gorgeous views of the sea and the neighbouring islands of Ithaca, Arkoudi and Lefkas . The Epiros Mountains in the background provide a majestic backdrop. The view is constantly changing, as yachts and small boats fleck the sea during the day and the Italy to Greece ferries glide silently by at night.

From the main terrace a sloping stone pathway meanders down towards the swimming pool. There is a smaller interim terrace here which benefits from the shade of the ancient olive tree behind and the lemon tree in the foreground. This is an ideal place to relax with a book and keep an eye on activities in the swimming pool.

A little further on is the main pool terrace. The pool is approximately 8.5 metres by 4 metres with roman steps leading to the shallow end. The terrace is hidden from view and therefore suitable for private sunbathing. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided and should you prefer natural shade, there is another leafy olive tree close to the pool.

The surrounding gardens are mature and planted with Oleander, Jasmine, Honeysuckle, Geraniums, Yucca and Thyme to name but a few. Trees in the garden are Olives, Lemon, Mediterranean Oak and wild Pear.
